Aviatik Berg D.I Wing
This wing is the original lower starboard wing of the Thöne and Fiala - built Aviatik, 101.40. The rest of the aircraft is on display at the Seattle Museum of Flight but this wing was determined to be too fragile - the rear portions of the ribs are broken - so a copy was made and that's what is in the aircraft on display. The drawings below are from pages 1285 and 1286 of the October 31, 1918, edition of the British aviation journal, Flight, which reported on a captured Aviatik Berg D.I Small pieces of fabric remain and indicate that the color of the wing was green.
